Although China's road traffic accidents have decreased significantly in recent years, they are still high. At present, the annual death toll of road traffic accidents in China still ranks second in the world. The impact of driving "inattention" on traffic accidents among young drivers needs to be paid attention to.
On July 9, Continental group, together with public welfare organizations and zhongzeyi, jointly released the Research Report 2018-2020 white paper on youth distraction and traffic accidents in China (hereinafter referred to as the "white paper"), which shows that the improvement of safety awareness of driving distraction will improve driving behavior and reduce the incidence of traffic accidents among young drivers.
In people's cognition, drunk driving is almost bound to traffic accidents. It seems that drunk driving should be the first road killer. However, according to the white paper, the survey results in 2020 show that 74.32% of respondents who have had traffic accidents believe that "inattention" is the main cause of accidents, accounting for the highest proportion, followed by "complex road conditions", accounting for 45.9%.
